One of our most frequently asked questions is “Do I have to get a permit before you install my storm shelter?

Whether it’s an outdoor storm shelter or a safe room, the answer is almost always YES!  Each city has different rules & regulations, so the cost of the permit and process will vary.  Almost every city will require an application & an engineer drawing of the specifications of your storm shelter, which you get from us.

  • $55.00 + $0.03 per square foot of the gross footage for the structure and shelter/safe room.

    • Plot plan (no larger than 11 by 17 inches)
  • Engineered footing design (no larger than 11 by 17 inches)**

  • Elevation
