Tornado pulse

Tornado pulse refers to sudden bursts of rotational energy within a tornado, influencing its intensity and movement.

What is Tornado Pulse?

A tornado pulse is a rapid surge or fluctuation in a tornado’s rotational energy, often leading to sudden changes in intensity, structure, or movement. These pulses can cause brief increases in wind speed and turbulence, making tornadoes even more unpredictable.

Tornado pulses typically occur due to interactions between the tornado and surrounding atmospheric conditions, such as wind shear, temperature changes, or pressure variations. They may also be influenced by the parent storm’s updraft and downdraft dynamics.

In severe weather events, tornado pulses can contribute to rapid strengthening or weakening of a tornado, posing challenges for forecasting and safety planning. This unpredictability emphasizes the importance of seeking shelter in a properly designed tornado shelter or safe room as soon as a tornado warning is issued.

Installation & Service Area Info

We proudly install storm shelters across Oklahoma only — we do not travel to other states, and we’re unable to make exceptions — but there are a few things to know:

  • Above ground shelter installations over 60 miles from our office in Bridge Creek may include a delivery charge.

  • Below ground shelter installations are typically limited to a 60-mile radius, though we occasionally go a bit farther with an additional fee.

  • We do not install or remove storm shelters inside garages.

➡️ Please check our Service Area page for more details about where we travel.
