CANCELLED Newcastle Disaster Prep Expo – April 5th!

This event has been CANCELLED due to the weather. We are hoping for a reschedule date and will keep you updated if that happens!

If you’re local to Newcastle or nearby, we’ve got a great event for you! On Saturday, April 5th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, join us at the first annual Newcastle Disaster Prep Expo at the Newcastle Community Storm Shelter (located at 851 N. Carr Drive).

This FREE community event—hosted by Newcastle Emergency Management—is all about helping residents get ready for severe weather and other emergencies. With storm season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to learn more about how to keep your family, home, and business safe.

You’ll get the chance to:

  • Meet first responders and emergency professionals from local and state organizations
  • Attend FREE CPR training sessions from the Red Cross at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
  • Check out booths from agencies like the National Weather Service, Oklahoma Forestry Services, McClain County Emergency Management, McClain-Grady EMS, Newcastle Fire & Police Departments, OEC, and more
  • Ask questions, gather resources, and get tips on planning for all kinds of emergencies
  • Enjoy great food, fun giveaways, and a welcoming atmosphere for the whole family

And yes—Sprague’s Backhoe will be there too! 🙌

Come Step Inside Our 7×9 Above-Ground Storm Shelter

We’ll have one of our 7×9 above-ground storm shelters on-site so you can step inside and see it for yourself! This is one of our most popular models because it’s spacious, durable, and designed to keep your family safe and comfortable during Oklahoma’s toughest storms. If you’ve ever wondered what an above-ground shelter really looks like up close—or what sets ours apart—this is a great chance to find out.

We’ll be there to answer any questions you have, walk you through how our installation process works, and share helpful info about choosing the right shelter for your space.

Why Attend?

💡 It’s free
🚑 Hands-on training (CPR!)
🌪️ Emergency prep resources
🍩 Food + fun vendors
🔥 Meet your local emergency teams
💬 Ask questions, get answers

You’ll also see booths from some amazing organizations, including Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief, Tinker Federal Credit Union, Salvation Army, Oklahoma Natural Gas, AT&T of Newcastle, Costco, OSUOKC, Chick-fil-A, The Donut Man, Butler Roofing, Blackout Generators, and more.

Newcastle’s Emergency Management Director, Donnie Sullins, encourages all residents to take advantage of this event—not only to get prepared, but also to meet the folks who will be there for you when emergencies happen. It’s an easy, engaging way to gather information that could make a huge difference for your family and community.

So grab your friends, bring the kids, and come hang out with us on April 5th! We’d love to see you there.

Installation & Service Area Info

We proudly install storm shelters across Oklahoma only — we do not travel to other states, and we’re unable to make exceptions — but there are a few things to know:

  • Above ground shelter installations over 60 miles from our office in Bridge Creek may include a delivery charge.

  • Below ground shelter installations are typically limited to a 60-mile radius, though we occasionally go a bit farther with an additional fee.

  • We do not install or remove storm shelters inside garages.

➡️ Please check our Service Area page for more details about where we travel.

Have questions? Call or text us anytime — we’re happy to help!
