How to Apply and What to Expect
Applying for the Chickasaw Nation Homeowner Preparedness Grant is a straightforward process, but there are a few key details to keep in mind:
- You’ll need a storm shelter estimate from your installer—Sprague’s Backhoe—to submit with your application.
- Once approved, the Chickasaw Nation will issue a check made payable to both the tribal member and the installer.
- At installation, the tribal member will endorse the check and give it to Jack, along with any remaining balance, if applicable.
Chickasaw citizens can reapply every 15 years, while elders 60 and older can reapply after five years. Applications are available through the Chickasaw Nation Housing Administration office, with a typical response time of 10 business days.
