6 Reasons You Should Come to Pawsitively Pampered

It’s been almost 7 years since we adopted Ellie from Pets & People Humane Society in Yukon. We love this animal rescue so much.

Shortly after we adopted Ellie, I wanted to get more involved with this rescue. As a mom with a toddler (just one at the time), there wasn’t many available hours in my day, so I figured the best way to help was to coordinate a fundraising event.

A dog wash.

I worked with 2 wonderful ladies (Dana and Peggy) from Pets & People to pull it together and it was a HUGE success. HUGE. We decided to make it an annual event. One year, we even did 2.

For the last 6 years and we’ve had 6 awesome events. And they get bigger and better every year. We’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars for the rescue.

Families and dog owners from all over the state drive to Yukon every year to attend this annual event.

Here are 6 (of the many) awesome reasons they come to this event and why you SHOULD too.

1. You Can Bring Your Dog

…and your kids. Bring the whole family.

We have tons of dog washers and 8 groomers at the event to pamper your four-legged friends at a super DISCOUNTED price.

Dog Wash – $10 for under 70 lbs, $12 for over 70 lbs
Grooming – $20 basic groom (Large dogs or extra furry dogs TBD by your groomer)
Nail Trim – $5 for under 70 lbs, $7 for over 70 lbs

The dogs LOVE all of the attention they get at this event. Some of our vendors bring treats for them!

2. Food Trucks

Who can resist food trucks? Not me. I’m obsessed.

We’ve got 5 lined up this year and they.are.amazing. I never leave this event with an empty stomach. Ever.

Cook’n It Up Food Truck & Catering
Ice Kween Creations
Lil’ Snowie
Phill Me Up Cheesesteaks  (We HIGHLY recommend the Philly Griller. YUM!)
The Brown’s Kitchen Okc

3. Shopping For the Whole Family

We have so many vendors this year. I’m one of those crazy people that starts Christmas shopping during the summer so I love that I can shop for literally everyone at this event…even the dogs. There’s makeup. There’s jewelry. Dog treats. Dog accessories. Kitchen utensils. Clothing. Books. Candles. Handmade crafts. Local businesses. Pet services. Just to name a few.

Check the Facebook Event Page to see the most up to date vendor list.

4. It’s For a Good Cause

Every single penny we make at this event is donated to Pets & People Humane Society. All of it. This no-kill animal shelter uses it to take care of dogs & cats waiting to find their fur-ever (see what I did there?) homes. Visit their website to find a list of adoptable cats & dogs.

5. We Have a Live DJ

Price Entertainment is going to be our LIVE DJ this year and we are so excited to have him! 6 hours of entertainment. We can’t wait!

He has generously offered to donate his time and services for this event, so when you see him, be sure to thank him.

6. It’s Still Summer!

Y’all. It’s still warm outside. But not for too much longer. Soak up the sun. Eat a snow cone. Get some Italian Ice. (We will have both!)

It’s such a fun event. We can’t wait for September 10. Come join us from 10-4 at Yukon National Bank on I-40 and Garth Brooks in Yukon.
